Jutomue's 2024 Highlights

 



In 2024, Jutomue participated in several professional development programs and led several impact-driven initiatives, some of which are not mentioned here. Consider the below as a highlight:

1. January 14, 2024 – Completed the Mandela Washington Fellowship Interview at the American Corner in Zorzor, Lofa County.
2. January 16, 2024 – Inspired and empowered 50 children at Voinjama SDA School with relevant information on growth and development.
3. January 22, 2024 – Published a call for expression of interest, leading to the establishment of Liberian Youth Voices for the Acceleration of the ICPD, now with over 40 youth-led organizations supporting the UN's ICPD program of action.
4. March 25, 2024 – Selected as one of the 15 UN Youth Champions for Disarmament.
5. April 17, 2024 – Represented Liberian youth at the United Nations Retreat in Margibi County, promoting meaningful youth participation in the UN System.
6. April 27, 2024 – Received a certificate in SMART Advocacy.
7. May 2, 2024 – Appointed as Breakthrough ACTION Youth Consultant and trained 10 youths in SMART Advocacy from Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, and Liberia.
8. May 15, 2024 – Represented Liberia's youth at the ICPD Global Dialogue on Demographic Diversity and Sustainable Development in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
9. May 16, 2024 – Met with the UNFPA Executive Director during the conference in Bangladesh.
10. June 10, 2024 – Spoke at the Africa Poverty Impact Summit by Let's Care Africa Foundation, emphasizing youth inclusion in policy development for sustainability.
11. June 17, 2024 – Appointed SRHR Coach, supporting 10 youths under "Her Health and Rights" by Help a Mother and Newborn.
12. June 18, 2024 – Selected for the Mandela Washington Fellowship and hosted by the University of Maryland County, Baltimore County.
13. July 9, 2024 – Selected among 100 remarkable youths for the Young Political Leadership School of Africa.
14. July 15, 2024 – Facilitated a session on ethical leadership outcomes for 25 youths from 18 African countries.
15. July 31, 2024 – Received recognition letters from President Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Biden Administration for youth leadership and advocacy.
16. August 4, 2024 – Met with Aruna Miller, Maryland's Lieutenant Governor, and Governor Wes Moore.
17. August 10, 2024 – Held discussions with officials of the Liberian Embassy in Washington D.C., including Ambassador H.E. Jeff Gongoer Dowana Sr.
18. August 16, 2024 – Graduated from the Young Political Leadership School of Africa.
19. September 2, 2024 – Facilitated an Advocacy Refresher Training for the Liberia National Children's Representative Forum, organized by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and UNICEF Liberia.
20. September 20, 2024 – Debriefed the US Ambassador, Mark Toner, after the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
21. October 22, 2024 – Participated in a UN Headquarters study tour as a UN Youth Champion for Disarmament.
22. October 24, 2024 – Met with Dr. Felipe Paullier, Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs at the UN.
23. October 27, 2024, – Met with H.E. Philemon Yang, President of the General Assembly's seventy-ninth session.
24. November 9, 2024 – Recognized as an Emerging National Icon by the 24th graduating class of the African Methodist Episcopal University.
25. November 11, 2024, – Awarded certificates for Cum Laude honor and Top Student (Dux) of the Louise C. York College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
26. November 13, 2024 – Graduated with a BSc (honor) in Sociology from the African Methodist Episcopal University.
27. December 12, 2024 – Graduated from the UN Youth Champion for Disarmament Training Program.
